May is a fabulous time to visit Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. You’ll beat the crowds, and the weather this year has been unseasonably warm. In fact, one of the best rumors in town is that Rocky Mountain National Park may open Trail Ridge Road sometime in May, ahead of the usual Memorial Day Weekend opening.

Whether Trail Ridge Road is open or not, just taking in the sensational scenery is always a treat in Estes Park. Other activities include hikes in the Park, seminars through the Park and the Rocky Mountain Nature Association, walks along our downtown river walk, or around Lake Estes, shopping, enjoying our fine restaurants, and, of course, wildlife viewing. Independence Day - July 4th, 2012

Celebrating the Fourth of July in Estes Park means more than spectacular light flashes and the sound of fireworks reverberating from the peaks surrounding this mountain village, although that culmination of events here is known throughout the state as one of the best fireworks displays anywhere.

Here there’s an air of tradition that starts with an annual community pancake breakfast with fixin’s for all. From mid-morning to mid-afternoon there’s a classic car show in the center of downtown. By late afternoon the musicians are tuned up and the crowds turn out for an annual patriotic concert at the Performance Park Amphitheater. After spending the day taking in the town, return to Solitude Cabins and enjoy our 4th Annual Grill Out at the Pavilion on the grounds of Solitude Cabins. Its our treat to our guests, hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, baked beans and more. Its a perfect way to relax before the fireworks light up the sky. You will LOVE the fireworks views from Solitude Cabins!!! There are several spots throughout the property to enjoy the fireworks!!
