Estes Park in the Summer
Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park are the number one visited spot in Colorado. Every summer hundreds of thousands converge on Rocky Mountain National Park for its hiking and natural beauty. They also enjoy Estes Park for its over 300 variety shops. Estes Park also has restaurants galore, everything from fast food to fine dining. You won’t find a lot of chain restaurants here.
The climate in Estes Park is welcoming with warm sunny days, with an average temperature of 80 degrees in the day and cool starry nights (with lots of falling stars, so bring plenty of wishes). Enjoy sitting outside without swatting at mosquitoes. Instead you can sit outside and usually find a herd of elk or deer, while the song of coyotes and owls permeates the night.
Estes Park also is the home to many cultural events during the summer. From music, arts and rodeos you can find something to do.
For the more adventurous spirit, make a summit attempt to Longs Peak or spend the day whitewater rafting. Rocky Mountain National Park offers some of the most climbable mountains in the United States. For the cerebral, fly fish pristine lakes and rivers in the area. The summer offers the opportunity to walk into the wild and walk out and pamper yourself in a mountain village with all the modern amenities.
